The final meter fare has three components: the start charge (added as soon as you enter the vehicle), distance travelled at the applicable tariff, and waiting — charged proportionally during congestion and at traffic lights, not only when the vehicle stops at your request. The exact Belgrade amounts are in the table above.
The higher night tariff applies at night, on Sundays and public holidays — the kilometre costs more than under the day tariff. The out-of-town tariff of 210 RSD/km applies beyond the city boundary, so it is worth agreeing a fixed total for longer routes.
In practice, traffic and departure time matter most. During peak hours the meter adds waiting, so the same route can cost more than off-peak. For airport or intercity travel, agree a fixed fare in advance. The regulated tariff also applies when you hail a taxi on the street; see the list of taxi ranks in Belgrade.
How much does a typical ride cost?
Estimate: start charge + (kilometres × price per km). The actual fare depends on the route, traffic and waiting. Compare taxis with Belgrade’s public transport in Taxi or public transport in Belgrade.
How much is an airport transfer?
Nikola Tesla Airport (BEG) is about 18 km from Republic Square. A daytime metered ride is about 2,210 RSD before waiting; many companies offer an agreed fixed fare. The Serbian-language guide explains the voucher system and prices: taxi from Belgrade Airport to the city centre.

How much is intercity transport from Belgrade?
