Traffic, journey time and how to save

When is traffic busiest: weekday peaks are about 07:00–09:00 and 16:00–19:00, with Friday afternoon often busiest. Weekend traffic is usually lighter.

How long does it take: outside peak hours, the motorway journey from central Belgrade usually takes about 30 minutes; in heavy traffic it can take twice as long. New Belgrade and Zemun are closer to the airport.

What affects the fare most: time of day, traffic and pickup location. The night tariff is 135 RSD/km from 22:00 to 06:00, on Sundays and public holidays; waiting is charged proportionally at 1,800 RSD/hour.

How to save: agree a fixed fare in advance, travel outside peak time where possible and book the day before an early flight.
