Niš — taxi fares
City-regulated prices, identical for all licensed taxi services (effective from 21 April 2025).
| Tariff | When it applies | Price / km |
|---|---|---|
| Tariff 1 — day | Weekdays and Saturdays, 06:00–22:00 | 70 RSD |
| Tariff 2 — night | 22:00–06:00, Sundays and public holidays | 80 RSD |
| Tariff 3 — out of town | Trips outside the city area | 120 RSD |
What affects the amount on the taxi meter in Niš?
The final meter amount has three components: starting fee (charged as soon as the ride begins), distance travelled at the applicable tariff, and waiting time — charged proportionally while stopped in traffic or at lights, not only when you ask the vehicle to wait. The exact Niš rates are shown above.
The higher night tariff applies at night and also on Sundays and public holidays, when the per-kilometre price is higher. Trips outside the city use the out-of-town tariff with a higher per-kilometre price, so it is sensible to agree a fixed price in advance for longer routes.
In practice, the fare is affected most by traffic congestion and departure time; during peak traffic the meter adds waiting charges, so the same route costs more. For an airport or intercity trip, agree a fixed price in advance — then congestion or a longer route will not add to the cost.
How much does a typical ride cost?
Estimate: starting fee + (kilometres × price per km). The actual fare depends on the route, traffic and waiting time.
