Novi Sad — 2026 taxi fares
City-regulated prices under the April 2026 decision, currently in force.
| Tariff | When it applies | Price / km |
|---|---|---|
| Tariff 1 — day | 06:00–22:00 | 85 RSD |
| Tariff 2 — night | 22:00–06:00, Sundays and public holidays | 110 RSD |
| Tariff 3 — special | Out-of-town rides, airport transfers and public holidays | 150 RSD |
What affects the amount shown on a Novi Sad taxi meter?
The final meter amount consists of three components: start (charged when the ride begins), distance travelled at the applicable tariff and waiting — charged proportionally while stopped in traffic or at lights, not only when you ask the driver to wait. Exact Novi Sad rates are in the table above.
The higher night tariff applies at night and generally on Sundays and public holidays. Trips outside the city use the out-of-town tariff with a higher per-kilometre rate, so it is worth agreeing a fixed price for longer journeys.
In practice, the greatest effect on the fare comes from congestion and departure time: during peak traffic the meter adds waiting time, so the same route costs more. For airport or intercity travel, agree a fixed price in advance — then congestion or a longer route will not add to the price.
How much does a typical ride cost?
Indicative calculation: start + (kilometres × price per km). The actual fare depends on route, traffic, waiting and luggage. For an example to Petrovaradin Fortress, see Taxi to Petrovaradin Fortress. For a comparison with driving costs, see Taxi or your own car in Novi Sad.
